Happy Pride Month all! Tens of thousands of people attending the 2018 Boston Pride Parade and Festival enjoyed a full day of celebration and education. Our friends at Community Research Initiative (CRI) hosted a table to tell visitors about their lifesaving research and services while handing out information and ONE® condoms.

Throughout the day, CRI staff provided information about the non-profit organization’s various offerings, including the HIV and PrEP Drug Assistance Programs, upcoming clinical trials, and resource education programs. Distributing free condoms served as an icebreaker for longer conversations about the organization’s HIV prevention, treatment, and research work.

“In 2017, we provided assistance to more than 12,000 people in Massachusetts who needed help paying for their HIV care or PrEP medications, or who participate in our clinical studies,” said Libby Mullen, CRI’s Manager of Communications and Development. “While our daily work tends to focus on improving the quality and safety of treatment and expanding access to care, condoms still serve as an essential tool in the fight against the spread of HIV.”

"By working together to end HIV from several angles such as education, medical care, innovative research, prophylaxis distribution, we can mount a stronger defense against the disease’s spread," Mullen added.

We're so thankful to our amazing partners like CRI for helping bring resources to communities, and educating people about sexual health!
