September is Sexual Health Awareness Month, making it a fitting time to celebrate two years of the ONE® College Ambassador Program and the student leaders helping make sexual health education and safer sex accessible to their campuses across the U.S. and Canada.

What began as a pilot in Fall 2024 with 31 college ambassadors has grown into a community of 119 ambassadors representing 94 schools across 32 states, Washington, D.C., and two Canadian provinces in Fall 2026.

Over the past two years, the ONE® College Ambassador Program has continued to grow alongside the students who make it what it is: student leaders, student organizations, peer educators, sexual health advocates, Greek life communities, and “sex nerds” bringing their own voices and campus perspectives to conversations about sexual health and wellness.

Fall 2024 Pilot to a Growing Campus Community

The ONE® College Ambassador Program began in Fall 2024 for college students who are already active on campus or involved in health education, sex education, student organizations, and other campus communities.

The idea was simple: give college students the education, resources, and support they need to bring more safer-sex conversations and resources to their peers. College students are often already doing this work. They may be peer educators, members of student wellness organizations, leaders in sexual-health groups, advocates for prevention and education, members of sports or social clubs, or simply students who want to make it easier for their peers to ask questions and find reliable resources. The program was created to give those students additional support.

ONE® supports ambassadors with online self-paced educational training, condoms and lubricant for campus events and outreach, educational resources, and ambassador swag. The goal is to complement the work students and campus organizations are already doing while giving ambassadors additional resources they can bring directly to their communities.

Today, the Fall 2026 cohort represents the largest semester yet with 119 ambassadors representing 94 schools across 32 states, Washington, D.C., and two Canadian provinces.

While the program has grown considerably since the pilot, its focus remains the same: support students who want to make safer sex education and resources more accessible on their campuses.

What Do ONE® College Ambassadors Do?

There is no single way to be a ONE® College Ambassador. Ambassadors bring the program into their campus communities in ways that meet the specific needs of their schools, organizations, interests, and peers. Tabling and campus outreach are among the most common ways ambassadors connect with students, creating opportunities to share safer sex resources, answer questions, and start conversations.

Ambassadors have shared that the distinctive artwork, designs, and colors on our ONE® condoms catch the attention of fellow students  and create an opening for curiosity, questions, and conversations about safer sex. From there, ambassadors can share resources and information while connecting with students in a casual campus setting.

Making Sexual Health Education Interactive

We’ve also learned from ambassadors that interactive events can be a great way to bring students into sexual health conversations. In our most recent Spring 2026 ambassador cohort, students explored approaches like sex ed bingo, trivia, and demonstrations to make learning approachable and engaging. 

When ambassadors shared that bingo and games were especially popular on their campuses, ONE® developed ONE® Bingo as a ready-to-use resource ambassadors could easily bring to their own events. It’s one example of how the program continues to evolve with its community. Our ambassadors bring their ideas, experiences, and campus perspectives, and we use what we learn from them to continue developing resources that support their work.

Proper Condom Fit Education

Many college students are trying condoms for the first time when they reach campus. ONE® provides condoms in various styles like glow-in-the-dark, flavored, thin, and textured. This makes condom use fun and pleasurable.

We also want to make sure an ill-fitting condom doesn't ruin someone's first experience and turn them off from using condoms in the future. This is why  one topic that’s especially helpful to demonstrate on campus is proper condom fit. Regular condoms fit lots of people in a pleasurable, comfortable way. However, regular condoms are too long for about 91% of people, too tight for 50% of people, and too loose for 30% of people. A condom should be long enough to provide coverage from base to tip and snug enough around the penis to stay in place without causing discomfort. An improper fit can contribute to common challenges such as slippage, squeezing, bunching, or erection loss. Finding the right condom fit is an important part of safer-sex education.

That’s part of why we launched the MyONE® Demonstrator Kit in April 2026. MyONE® Custom Fit® is a line of ONE® condoms designed to address the fact that one condom size does not fit everyone. MyONE® offers 52 custom-fit sizes, with 10 length options and 9 width options, giving people more ways to explore a condom that works for them.

Ambassadors who complete the MyONE® training module as part of their e-learning course can request a MyONE® Demonstrator Kit for their campus outreach. The kit gives ambassadors a hands-on way to introduce the concept of condom fit and talk with peers about why both length and width can matter when choosing a condom.

It’s one more example of how we’re continuing to build resources around what ambassadors are seeing and hearing on their campuses, giving them practical tools to make sexual health conversations more approachable.

Why Peer-to-Peer Sex Ed Matters

Sexual health is part of college life, but talking about it doesn't always come naturally. Students are learning more about themselves, building relationships, and navigating new experiences including when it comes to sexual health.

That makes access to accurate, approachable information important. Sex education is more than discussing STI prevention. It includes safer sex, proper condom use and fit, lubricant education, communication, consent, contraception, pleasure, testing, and healthy relationships.

There’s also an ongoing need for sex ed among young people. According to the CDC, young people ages 15–24 continue to account for nearly half of all new STIs. College students are part of that population.

Peer-to-peer education can help make these conversations feel more relatable and approachable. A student who is already a part of the campus community and culture can understand the questions, conversations, and experiences their peers may be navigating. That shared connection can help create spaces where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning something new, and talking about sexual health without judgement. 

Making Safer Sex Resources More Accessible

Our ambassadors have also noticed that not every student feels comfortable walking up to a table and asking for condoms. Over the past two years, students have found creative ways to make safer sex resources more accessible, including creating safer sex kits, goodie bags, discreet resource packets, and private condom pickup or drop-off points. These approaches give students options for accessing resources in ways that feel comfortable for them, whether they want to stop and chat with an ambassador or simply grab what they need and go.

During the Spring 2026 cohort, ambassadors adapted their distribution strategies around privacy, comfort, and accessibility, creating additional ways for students to access sexual health resources without having to navigate public interaction.

We noticed a common theme among ambassador groups: students were packing individual condoms and educational materials they were able to request into small bags so they could easily hand them out during campus outreach. Seeing that, we wanted to make the process one step easier. This Fall, we launched our new ONE® Grab ’N Go Kits, bringing together a selection of ONE® condoms, lubricants, and educational resources in ready-to-use kits that ambassadors can take to distribute at campus events and through outreach.

Two years in, the ONE® College Ambassador Program continues to grow alongside the students who make up its community. From peer educators and student organizations to campus wellness groups, Greek life, and “sex nerds,” our ambassadors continue to bring their own ideas, perspectives, and approaches to making sexual health conversations more open and accessible on campus.
