In late March, students at Truman State University hosted Project CONDOM during the University's second annual Sexual Health Awareness Week. Representatives from Phi Epsilon Kappa (PEK), the Student Public Health Association, and Health Advocacy Group (SHAG) participated in the event, which was held March 29th at 7pm in the University's Student Union.

In order to set the mood prior to the fashion show, student organizers featured a presentation on safer sex practices, which included a video made by Physician Dr. Doe on condoms from her YouTube channel "Sexplanations." While a panel of judges voted for their favorite garment following the show, audience members were given an opportunity to discuss the topics highlighted in the presentation with one another.

According to Gillian Mwangi who helped coordinate this year's event, Project CONDOM was well received amongst audience members and helped educate groups who may not have previously been comfortable discussing topics related to sexual health.

"There's always hesitation amongst students to attend events related to Sexual Health because it can be such a daunting topic. So when we discovered Project CONDOM, we thought it would be a great, fun event that could cater to a broader audience."

As this was the University's first time hosting Project CONDOM, student organizers provided audience members with a survey at the end of the evening featuring questions about the event that would help them improve upon it in the future.

Our team at ONE® is thrilled to have partnered with Truman State University and very much looks forward to partnering with them during next year's Sexual Health Awareness Week. Bravo TSU!
