Considering that ONE's offices are located in Boston, our staff knows a little something about the love for the game of hockey. So when the Calgary Pioneers, Alberta's first LGBTQ-focused hockey team, reached out to us for partnership ideas—we couldn't wait to learn more.
The Calgary Pioneers came from humble beginnings, starting in 2015 with a focus on LGBTQ equality and diversity in sports. They are in partnership with the You Can Play Project in spreading the word that there is no room for discrimination in hockey. Our team at ONE is a proud supporter of their cause! We're so thankful that the team is helping us encourage people to play safe by distributing ONE, in addition to helping us start condom conversations via the Canada Condom Wrapper Contest.
Major congrats to the team for finishing off their season in Winsport's WHCL as the Granville Island Division Champions for the 2016/2017 winter league! And thank you to all their amazing members for spreading messages of love and equality within sports.
