Amateur was formed in 2016 by high school classmates Chris Tauzell (vocals/guitar), Brody Heinzel (guitar) and Jake Steele (bass). The band’s lineup is filled in by Alex Ortberg (drums), Elijah Gray (keyboard), Amanda Jay Fuller (vocals), John Sievers (trombone) and Jacob Burkhart (trumpet). The band draws influences from bands like The Strokes, The Black Keys, Alabama Shakes, Bahamas, and Dawes, while including elements of funk, pop and soul.
