In March, the Waywayseecappo Youth Conference “Bridging Communities & Relationships” in Manitoba, Canada, presented various speakers and workshops to promote healthier lifestyles.

The keynote speakers included Ashley Callingbull, the first Canadian, and the first indigenous Canadian woman to win the Mrs. Universe title, and Brandon Nolan, former player for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League.

Workshops included “Dating and relationships plus consent” with SERC (Sexuality and Education Resource Centre) and “Safe Sex” with Sandra Shingoose from Community Health at Waywayseecappo. Other topics included “Addictions Awareness,” “the History of Storytelling,” and “Connecting Communities Through the Medicine Wheel.” The conference also showcased different dance performances from community members.

Our team at ONE is always excited to support events around the world that are educating and empowering people to make healthy decisions around sexual health.
